Regenerative Food for Diverse Climbers

Farm To Crag had our second opportunity to bring beautiful, local, organic, nourishing, grounding, welcoming, celebratory food to United in Yosemite an event centered on diversity, inclusion and equity in the Yosemite climbing community. We recognize that the trail to feeling at home in the wilderness, climbing a bigwall, or just being part of  the climbing community is incredibly complex for communities of color, different abilities, or sexual orientation, Farm To Crag believes that locally grown food, fresh from healthy soils, made with love, and shared with joy is a building block for comfort, conversation, and success while climbing, hiking or building trails in Yosemite Valley.  Though we may not build actual trails at this event, the pathway will be paved for underrepresented communities to find joy climbing in the outdoors, sharing food, building community and soaking up the natural beauty.

Farm To Crag sourced, harvested and prepared dinner for 200 climbers, local land managers, and community leaders June 23th, 2024. We couldn’t do it without support from Matt Dillon, Kate Rutherford, Lisa Bediant, and Lauren Glikin of Raw Roots Farm.

FARM TO CRAG believes that when climbers invest in local sustainable agriculture, we demonstrate our power to lead healthy lives, grow resilient communities, and reverse climate change. Our mission is to inspire action to reverse climate change by investing in regenerative food systems.

That inspiration often begins with a beautiful meal.
