Over the next 5 years, we are hoping to take meaningful steps in closing the sizable gap that exists between our current and potential reach. We have big ideas for how we want to continue to build power and create systemic change. With your investments, Farm To Crag will scale our impact by:
Expanding the reach of our community gatherings to more regions across the U.S. and abroad to educate, connect, and inspire more climbers to engage with sustainable food systems.
Hosting more free/at cost (with your help) educational gatherings in partnership with regenerative organic farming projects that build an equitable community around the education of soil science, cooking, and nutrition, food traditions with indigenous leaders, climate activism, and enjoyment of locally sourced meals
Bringing more diverse voices into our movement, with a focus on those communities who are under-represented in the climbing and outdoor industries
Building strategic partnerships and plans for local food investment with like-minded organizations within the climbing, outdoors, environmental, and sustainable agriculture sectors to amplify our voice and opportunity for change
Connecting more climbers to sustainable food through a new mobile-friendly and interactive Farm To Crag Map
Investing in peer-to-peer education and advocacy at climbing gyms and beyond, on how climbers can most effectively use their voice (and their dollars) to affect change in their communities
Investing in organizational leadership and capacity to support our growing network of Farm To Crag Ambassadors and community advocates.
To support Farm to Crag in achieving this vision, we have established a 5-year fundraising goal of $1 million.
This level of organizational support will allow us to hire passionate folks to carry the Farm to Crag banner into even more communities and develop and foster key partnerships with climbing gyms, diverse local climbing organizations, and climate allies alike. Investments are also needed to expand our capacity to host and support more local and regional events, manage and oversee our map and app development and expansion, create farther-reaching educational tools, and boost our capacity to engage more fully in climate-related advocacy opportunities impacting climbers and farmers alike.

Your Investment in Our Impact
We realize the urgency of the climate crisis and know we need to scale up our work in order to bring more climbers into the climate fight and grow our impact. In 2023, Farm To Crag is launching a major campaign to mobilize significant investments to help us build on and accelerate the impact we’ve already had in our first five years. In 2023 alone, we hosted seven joyful community events and the year before we attended another 10, we made more than 4,000 unique connections, and highlighted 436 local sustainable food projects on our map. But everywhere we go, we hear from more climbers who want our help fostering climate justice conversations in their own communities, or who need more tools to help them translate their passion to save the home planet into tangible actions.

Over the next year, we are hoping to raise $1 million to invest in Farm to Crag’s future. We have spent the past few years taking stock of all we’ve accomplished since our founding in 2019 and dreaming up our vision for what we hope to contribute to this collective movement to transform our food system in the years to come. We have a bold vision for how we can galvanize even more climbers to join us in this work, but we need your help. We are asking our community to join us in digging deeper so we can climb higher and reach our future goals.
